Chris Plater is an advocate of business, government, nonprofit, and education partnerships; small business development; diversity and inclusion; onshore production of goods; educational outreach supporting workforce development; and the roles that nonprofits play in revitalizing business communities.
Chris Plater's background combines vast experience managing business development and workforce development programs with skills in project management, consulting, and training for startups and seasoned organizations in the public and private sectors.
Having honed skills in program development, marketing, and public relations through positions with four major East Coast universities, Chris is passionate about the amalgamation of education and workforce training with employment and careers.
She holds a graduate certificate in Leadership from Johns Hopkins University with a focus on business disciplines. Chris earned her Master of Science degree in Public Relations from American University with a concentration on applications for government, nonprofit, and higher education institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Sciences from the University of Maryland College Park. With a foundation in Economic Development and Project Management, she is also a member of the Maryland Economic Development Association, the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce, and the Project Management Institute.
